What is the difference between an Employee Number and a Badge ID?

← All Topics

The Badge ID is the same number that the system will automatically store onto the punch clock for a specific employee. Whilst the Employee number can contain alphanumeric characters, the Badge ID can only contain numeric characters. It is important to note that all employees need to have a unique Employee Number and Badge ID.

Tip: We recommend that the Badge ID set for all employees is kept the same as the employee number. This allows for good practise when enrolling employees into the system.

Note: Letters are not supported within the badge number field to comply with the manufacturer requirements for the biometric device.
