What is the difference between a Master and a Slave punch clock?

← All Topics

Note: These instructions cover Time & Attendance devices purchased from DataByte between 2017 and present, containing Face recognition, Fingerprint and RFID scanners.

Timekeeper allows for Administrators to set one of the punch clocks in their setup as a Master punch clock which is used to enroll all employees. The benefit of this, is that any other punch clock set as Slave, will receive the same employee data (including Face recognition, Fingerprint and RFID data) , and this will enable all employees that have been enrolled onto the Master punch clock to be able to punch-in from all of the punch clocks set as Slave.

There is also the option to be able to have other punch clocks run independently without including data the employee data that is saved on the Master punch clock.
