My employees’ biometric data is not syncing on my slave devices, what could be the problem?
With reference made to the Timekeeper Administration manual, in order for employees to sync correctly between Master and Slave punch clocks, it is essential that employees are added to WorkForce first, and then synced with the punch clocks by providing them with power and internet.
Please be sure to check the icons on the top, right-hand side of the punch clock’s screen and the Device Health section on the Timekeeper Dashboard to ensure that your punch clock has both a network and internet connection.
Note: We recommend that the download of employee data is downloaded to more than 1 USB pen drive as to avoid having issues with corrupted pen drives or losing employee biometric data.
What can I do if I added employees to the punch clock without letting it sync with WorkForce to download employee data from the system?
STEP 1:
Download employee data from the Master punch clock:
- – Attach an empty USB pen drive to the punch clock
- – Login to the Main Menu of the punch clock
- – Go to USB Manager in the punch clock menu
- – Click M/OK on Download
- – Click User Data – A message should appear saying that these have been successfully copied. Additionally, it would be safe to remove the pen drive and repeat the process with a different pen drive to ensure that you have saved this data on 2 different storage devices. In the event that one of them were to fail for any reason, you would not lose your data that way.
STEP 2:
Delete all employees on the Master punch clock that do not show as having Fingerprint or Face Recognition Data on the Slave Device
Use Employee list of WorkForce where you will be able to see an icon under the template row or see the user list on the Slave punch clock to identify which these employees are.
STEP 3:
Switch off the Master punch clock, and leave it off for at least 10 seconds
STEP 4:
Switch on the Master punch clock and Leave it running for 2 minutes
This will allow for the punch clock to download all employees that were deleted from the software to the punch clock. Check the employee list to see that the punch clock has synced and that all employees have re-appeared on the punch clock without biometric data.
STEP 5:
Attach the USB pen drive used to download user data from the Master punch clock and copy the user data back to the punch clock
- – Attach a USB pen drive containing saved user data to the punch clock
- – Login to the Menu of the punch clock
- – Go to USB Manager in the punch clock menu
- – Click M/OK on Upload
- – Select User Data – A message should appear saying that these have been successfully copied.
STEP 6:
Switch off the Master punch clock, and leave it off for at least 10 seconds
STEP 7:
Switch on the Master punch clock and Leave it running for at least 2 minutes
This will allow it to sync with the software and upload all employee-related information to the software.
STEP 8:
Go to the Employees list in WorkForce to check that all expected employees now have templates
You should now see that all employees who have fingerprints on the master punch clock will have a template listed.
