Note: These instructions cover Time & Attendance devices purchased from DataByte between 2017 and present, containing Face recognition, Fingerprint and RFID scanners.

How do I clear the attendance log on a biometric punch clock?

These instructions are to be used when a punch clock provides this message after an employee clocks in/out:

FAILED TO VERIFY
ERROR! REACH ATT DATA MAX CAPACITY

Follow the process below to clear the attendance log on the punch clock.

Note: No clockings will be removed from the software when running this process. Please access Clockings > Clocking List in Timekeeper before running this process, to ensure that all expected clockings (clockings that were made correctly prior to this error appearing) have been synced with the Timekeeper.

  • -Log in to the device as an Administrator
  • – You will arrive at the device’s main menu, and you will need to navigate to Data Mgt. using the up, down, left and right buttons and tap on M/OK
  • – Tap on M/OK with Delete Data highlighted in yellow
  • – Tap on M/OK with Delete Attendance Data highlighted in yellow
  • – Tap on M/OK with Delete All highlighted in yellow, navigate to OK using the up and down buttons and tap on M/OK
  • – After that point, you can ask an employee to try punching in and you will see that the clocking has been accepted by the device
  • – Access Timekeeper and navigate to Clockings > Clocking List to disable the test punch created by the employee.
